FAQ

How do I schedule a session?

  • By phone: (720) 672-7443

  • Once you schedule an appointment by phone or email, you will receive a confirmation email with a link. You will need to complete intake forms along with other forms prior to our first session.

Do you provide free initial consultation?

Yes, Journey to Counseling offers a free 20-minute video consultation. Consultation is a great way for you and I to get to know one another and see if we are a good fit. This also gives you the opportunity to ask any questions you might have about what to expect if we started working together as well as any specific areas you would like me to be aware of. We can also talk about what you may want to get out of therapy. Consultations are a great way to get a feel for a therapist without having to commit to a full session. I always recommend to each person seeking therapy, to have a consultation so that you can make an informed decision about who you would like to work with.

What can I expect from my first session?

During the first therapy session, we will go over intake forms and get to know one another. Also, understanding my therapeutic style and determining your therapeutic goals to find out if we are a good fit. Regardless of the reason why you might seek therapy, researchers tell us that it is a very important factor to find a therapist that is a good fit for you, someone who you can trust, and who can meet you where you’re at. Once a good alliance is built, you will be able to trust your therapist to open up and share your experiences, and being comfortable showing your vulnerable side with your therapist without the fear of being judged.

How often do we meet?

In the beginning it is recommended that we meet on a weekly basis. If that is not feasible, I would like to discuss what might work for you. In my experience meeting weekly, especially in the beginning of therapy, can lead to a streamlined process of understanding your goals for therapy and implementing a plan without the need to play catch in each session.

What form of payment do you accept?

Credit card, PayPal, Venmo, HSA, FSA & Zelle

Do you accept insurance?

At this time, I do not accept insurance. However, I will produce a receipt designed to be submitted to your insurance carrier which will include all necessary information (ICD-10 codes, Diagnosis, License number, etc.) to request reimbursement. Often times, if your insurance will not reimburse, they will allow your payments to apply towards your deductible, but each insurance program is different, therefore the best thing is to contact your insurance provider for more details regarding this matter and about an out-of-network provider.

Do you offer Online therapy sessions?

Due to COVID-19, only online sessions are offered via HIPAA Compliant platform provided by Simple Practice.
